Try a real workflow.
Start with a practice file.
Choose a task, run the example and check the result. No account or store connection is needed. Your files stay in your browser.
Spot a risky product update
A product export has been edited. Find the changed price, an accidentally blank field and a variant option change before an import.
- Open Shopify change preview and choose Try before & after examples.
- Select Compare Shopify CSVs. Review the changed cells and open the unmatched records.
- Find the blank Vendor and changed option, then download the full comparison.
Check your answer
Expect 4 changed cells, including 1 possible clear and 1 option change. The Vendor for linen-tee becomes blank, its price changes from 18.95 to 20.95 and one option changes from Green to Olive. The tea-tin SKU changes from 00130 to 00131.
The bag changes both its SKU and option, so there are 2 unmatched records, one per file. Unmatched does not mean Shopify will delete the product. Possible clears and option changes are categories within the changed cells, not extra changes to add.
Prepare two supplier drafts
Your purchase list contains three items from two suppliers. Separate the orders and reconcile the merchandise subtotals.
- Open Purchase-order drafts and load the example CSV.
- Check the column mapping, choose USD and review the reference, date and quantity confirmation.
- Generate drafts, review both suppliers and download a printable draft.
Check your answer
Expect 2 supplier drafts, 3 lines and 127 units. North Supply totals USD 308.00; Harbor Goods totals USD 192.50. The combined merchandise subtotal is USD 500.50.
The first SKU remains 00123. Freight, tax and other charges are excluded. The printable file is HTML: open it in a browser and use Print or Save as PDF. No order is sent.
Would this help with your own task?
Try a copy of a file you are entitled to use, check the output against your own records and note the first step that feels unclear. Practice files are synthetic; do not import them into your store or send their orders to a supplier.
Tell us what happened
The feedback panel in the tool asks whether you finished your task and what got in the way. Sending answers uses your optional analytics choice. You can also copy the short summary and return it to the person who invited you, without enabling analytics.
Useful feedback is specific: “I could not tell whether the price was per case or per item” tells us more than a star rating.
